About Our Bid

The City of Gainesville, Lake Lanier Olympic Park and the University of North Georgia are proud to submit our bid for the 2025-26 NCAA Women’s Rowing National Championships.

Lake Lanier Olympic Park is home to the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games rowing and canoe/kayak events. Our picturesque setting, coupled with a straight 3,000-meter stretch of open water, which is ideal for rowing. In addition, there are adequate practice, warm-up and cool-down areas. We have a permanent world-class facility for athletes and spectators alike.

Lake Lanier Olympic Park and its partners, Lake Lanier Rowing Club and Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club, have a proven track record of successful national and international, large and small-scale events. With our ideal venue and waters, experienced and knowledgeable volunteers, variety of housing and dining opportunities – all tied into our famous Southern hospitality, we’re confident Lake Lanier Olympic Park and the city of Gainesville would be the perfect setting for the national championships.
